two weeks ago my son went down with gastro ended up dehydrated badly went to his Gp feeling bad almost passing out in the bathroom his doctor did blood tests on the day he visited him marked as urgent they came back 6 30 that night i had the phone call saying to get him to hospital straight away as he was going into acute kidney failure we raced him to victo harbour hospital had to wait 4hrs finally we saw a doctor i will not mention his name even though i know it now who checked him out my son giving hm feed back how he had been for two weeks previous and the phone call i recieved from the pathology that night to get him straight to hospital the doctor in his own said to my so i dont know what your kidney levels are not even checking up on the computer from the pathology results and telling my son to go home and have a good nights sleep when his kidneys were starting to pack up . the doctor never kept him in overnight to give him fluids on adrip to help his kidneys my son saw his own doctor first thing next day who did another blood test and told him to go to nourlunga hospital sraight away great care was put on a drip straight away had blood test levels kidneys levels 300 was trasfered to flinders that same night spent two days there great care there as well the scary thing we learned that on the night we took him to victor hospital his kidney level were 800 not good enough victor hospital will never go there again wether for me or my family somebody needs to read this review and give some aswers waiting for a reply mrs bircheough the date was13june we got to see the doctor about 11oclock that night
I wish you could tick 0 stars! This place is a disgrace. My wife has been in here for only 24 hours and all they have done is miss medication and give her medication she is allergic to. Can't get her out of here quick enough.
Emergency dept is terrible. We arrived there at 7pm and walked out without seeing a doctor at 11:15. The first duty nurse thought I was going to show her my wound in the groin in the waiting room. I felt degraded just by that attitude. People with a child were waiting for 5 1/2 hours and tried to ring the duty nurse to find out how much longer her little boy has to wait. There was no answer. Disgusting.!! I tried to ring at 11:15 and got the same treatment, no answer. Yet someone new walked in and the nurse was there quick smart. We were in the car by then and decided to go back to Ashford.The staff had no empathy at all. They were obviously busy but didnt care about those waiting for many hours. My GP husband was with me and was also disgusted. He said if the people in the waiting room had been at his surgery, they would have been in and out within 1/2 hour!!!The hospital also sent my elderly mother home in a delerious state after influenza A. Consequently she was back in the RAH within days..There is no locum service on the south coast that we know of and what about the thousands of people who descend there over the holiday period. The hospital cant cope and the staff have become indifferent. SA Health needs a 24 hour surgery or at least a weekend surgery open till 9pm not at the hospital that caters for people who dont really need to go to the emergency dept.
New emergency area with doctor on site know. Clean with moderate waiting times. Friendly staff
Excellent, your staff were very kind considerate and understanding,unfortunately I can only remember two names before my memory went pear shaped, they were Glenda and Dr. Bruce Perks. Sorry about the rest of you...you were all fantastic. A special thanks though to Bruce, I have followed your advice and I am now on medication for high blood pressure and will undergo further tests at Yankalilla, hopefully preventing the issues that you mentioned might occur.Regards....
